Human Connection in Art | Garden Talks, Food & Music at Katsuragawa’s Studio
Between industrial walls and an untamed garden in Berlin, as a satellite project of BRUNG Gallery, artist Alexander Katsuragawa opens his studio – a raw, industrial space – as a deliberate alternative to traditional gallery settings. In a market shaped by gatekeepers and rigid structures, this is a space for something else: art that’s raw, intimate, and human.
Together with the emerging BRUNG Gallery, they advocate for openness, unpredictability, and direct human connection in art — offering an alternative way to encounter art: raw, intimate, and grounded in place. The artist latest body of work draws from woodcut techniques to create haunting nocturnal landscapes: serene, shadowy, and quietly disobedient. He explores themes of alienation — both the alienation of humanity from nature and the fragmentation of the self in the modern world set against the backdrop of Berlin’s gritty architecture, the pieces invite you into a dialogue between control and chaos, surface and depth.
This gathering is part of an ongoing exploration into what it means to create and connect outside the system. Expect a blend of shared food, drinks, music and spontaneous conversation in the garden.
