What makes a person risk their own life for that of others? How do you make a decision when the only way to escape is through the line of fire?
The film's director, Stanislav Tiunov, describes the film as a time machine that takes viewers back to the early days of the war and shows how Ukrainians stuck together and resisted the enemy.
The film is based on the true story of Konstantin Gudauskas, a Kazakh citizen and Lithuanian Jew. He happens to be in Butscha at the beginning of the Russian invasion in 2022. When the invaders arrive, Konstantin uses his passport to save Ukrainians. His adversary is an FSB colonel responsible for cleansing Butsha. Two men, two fates, two world views - and a space in which every decision can be the last.
The filmmakers tried to depict the events realistically: they used statements from people who lived under occupation to develop the plot, and filming took place in the unoccupied Kyiv region.

У центрі сюжету - реальна історія Костянтина Гудаускаса, громадянина Казахстану й литовського єврея. Він випадково опинився в Бучі на початку російського вторгнення 2022 року. З приходом окупантів Костянтин використовує свій паспорт, щоб рятувати українців. Його антагоніст - полковник ФСБ, який керує зачисткою Бучі. Два чоловіки, дві долі, два світогляди - і один простір, де кожен вибір може стати останнім.
Творці фільму прагнули відтворити події з реалістичністю: до розробок сюжету залучали свідчення людей, що потрапили в окупацію, зйомки відбувались на деокупованій Київщині.
