There are many things in life that we are (more or less) free to choose: our circle of friends, our workplace, our place of residence. However, we have to take some communities as they come: We can't choose our family or our neighbors, for example.

The neighborhood network in all its facets is the subject of this book. Bernd Imgrund was born in Cologne in 1964. He studied German, philosophy and politics and worked as an editor for a city magazine. His more than 40 novels and non-fiction books deal with topics such as pubs, table tennis and the male psyche. Hirzel Verlag published the essay "Faul. The benefits of doing nothing".
