Buchpremiere mit Maike Schöfer – »Nö«

Premiere and debut at the same time! On August 27, the Buchbox will be celebrating again: Maike Schöfer, pastor and author, will be meeting with journalist and author Edith Löhle in our bookshop in Kastanienallee to celebrate her debut "Nö - Eine Anstiftung zum Neinsagen". Will there be a few more surprises? We'll probably find out at the premiere!

The great power of a small word: we are all born with a " no ". Screaming because something is wrong. As defiant girls, we are cute at first, then we are trained to protest. We are supposed to please, not cause problems. In this book, Maike Schöfer gives us back our "no". A no can be an act of self-assertion, a rejection, but it can also mean something much bigger: resistance. Whether as a liberating no to things we don't want to do or as an angry no to entrenched structures and discrimination. An inspiring, personalexamination of what is probably the most feministword we can choose.

Maike Schöfer, born in 1989, is a pastor under the skies of Berlin. Feminist, queer and uncomfortable, she writes digitally as @ja.und.amen and analog in her gown against injustices - in society and in her church. She is involved in interreligious dialog, including with the podcast "331 - 3 Frauen, 3 Religionen, 1 Thema", which she runs together with a Judaist and an Islamic theologian and which was awarded the German PR Prize in 2023.

Edith Löhle is a German journalist and author. Having worked predominantly for lifestyle magazines for over ten years, most recently as editor-in-chief of the German Nylon Magazine and Blonde Magazine, she is now driven by stories that highlight social injustices and in particular discrimination against female-read people. Her creative outlets are diverse: Edith has already written an audio book (the feminist essay "Die Rechtschaffen(d)en"), a documentary for ZDF ("Programmed Injustice"), which was nominated for the German Television Award 2022. She is also the founder of the granny platform HeyNana.de, which advocates the exchange between two generations of women.
