On the occasion of the exhibition Kazuko Miyamoto. String Constructions at KW Institute for Contemporary Art (October 18, 2025 - January 11, 2026), KW is organizing the Berlin publication of the monograph Kazuko Miyamoto. Edited by Luca Cerizza, Zasha Colah and Eva Fabbris, the monograph is the most comprehensive publication to date on the Japanese artist Kazuko Miyamoto (*1942), who has lived in New York City since 1964. From her initial post-minimalist phase to her discovery of natural materials and craft practices, from her interest in performance to her engagement with traditional Japanese stylistic features in her later years, this volume explores the eclectic and free nature of Miyamoto's work and life, as well as her relationships with the New York City art and cultural scene from the late 1960s to the present. In addition to the exhibition, which opens at KW this fall, the volume complements two monographic exhibitions at the Madre Museum in Naples (2023) and Belvedere 21 in Vienna (2024), curated by Fabbris, which contribute to the exploration of a unique voice in the contemporary art scene.

He has been teaching curatorial studies and museology in the MA program at NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti) since 2006. She co-curated the 3rd Pune Biennale with Luca Cerizza (2017) and was part of the curatorial team of the 2nd Yinchuan Biennale (2018) under the direction of Marco Scotini. She is the curator of the 13th Berlin Biennale (2025).
