The Butterbrotmarkt is the culinary social hub in the heart of Blankenstein. In 2019, we, Katrin Jacoby, Uli Wilkes and Otfried Priegnitz, were an initiative group of active Blankenstein residents who worked closely with the cultural association ArteMedis e.V. to liven up the beautiful market square. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there were no bread and butter markets in 2020 and 2021. From 2022, Claudia Kranzhoff, Benjamin Pehle, Heiko Wendenburg-Holtz, Martin Fels, Stephan Reschke and Otfried Priegnitz will be responsible for the planning and organization.

The Butterbrotmarkt offers likeable people a good opportunity to enjoy, meet and linger. We have no commercial interests and organize a lively get-together on the market square out of civic commitment. The ambience of the centrally located market square in the historic center of Blankenstein is perfect for ringing in the well-deserved weekend in a cozy atmosphere.

There are many young familiesin the Blankenstein district , including newcomers, who are looking to make friends and get involved in their neighborhood. Many older and single people also want more communication and interaction, which they can find here. Our sandwich market is based on this socially oriented idea.

Our idea of constructive, communicative togetherness is to enjoy a communal evening meal in a convivial atmosphere. High-quality products from the region are served: freshly baked bread, a variety of cheeses, sausage specialties and various tasty snacks. Accompanied by delicious drinks such as fine wines, various beers and home-brewed beers - everything you need for a relaxed end to the week.
