Free, outdoors and under palm trees: this summer, the DURCHLÜFTEN music festival will once again transform the Humboldt Forum's large Schlüterhof courtyard into a lively meeting place for sound, rhythm and culture.

Over four weekends, music from all over the world will radiate from the stage: from the raw energy of Mexican cumbia punk to the hypnotic groove of Kenyan dodo blues, from the electrifying syncopation of Congolese soukous to the powerful messages of Afrofuturist big bands.

Japanese folk with a Caribbean influence, soulful jazz, hip-hop and the joy and resilience of the Frafra gospel round off this celebration of sound - boundless, multi-perspective and irresistibly danceable!

As with every DreamBus trip, this evening will also feature special guests - artists who have helped shape Café Chocolat since it was founded in 2024: with Miziguruka (Rwanda), Mariama (Sierra Leone, Berlin), Huguette Tolinga, Nyangombe and Jolez-Bo (DR Congo) and, finally, DJ Shiru

"An evening of Bantu soul, global rhythms and diasporic celebration" ... Durchlüften welcomes Café Chocolat with a special edition of its community-oriented series, presenting an unforgettable evening led by Batila & The Dream Bus - a Berlin-based collective of outstanding international musicians known for their infectious fusion of grooves, melodies and traditional rhythms. The sound? Bantu Soul - music by people for people - shaped by bandleader and songwriter Batila, whose Congolese roots and deep love for Rumba Congolaise characterize this rich and spiritual sound journey.

The line-up of The DreamBus includes bandleader Batila (vocals and guitar), Dodo NKishi (Mouse on Mars) on drums, Skyline Sun on guitar, Paul Hoyle on bass, Nane Kahle on backing vocals, Sam Konzi and Kalle Zeier on guitars, Adam Pawel Dziewialtowski-Gintowt on drums and Mauricio Fleury on keys and flute. Together they create a pan-African, diasporic energy that is both powerful and joyful. Other instrumentalists of the evening are Eurico Ferreira Mathias on cello and Pedro Dantas on drums.
