SPECIAL EXHIBITION
Camille Claudel & Bernhard Hoetger. Emancipation from Rodin
120 years after their first joint exhibition, Camille Claudel's enchanting masterpieces such as L'Implorante or La Valse now meet the fascinating and little-known early work of Bernhard Hoetger again!
Both artist personalities, whose works and paths crossed several times in Paris, were united by their striving for recognition and their simultaneous rejection of the master of modern sculpture Auguste Rodin. A top-class selection of their works - from private and public collections - can be seen at the Paula Modersohn-Becker Museum in Bremen from January 25 to May 18, 2025.
The exhibition "Camille Claudel & Bernhard Hoetger. Emancipation from Rodin" is the most comprehensive presentation of works by Camille Claudel in Germany for almost twenty years!
It is a cooperation between the Paula Modersohn-Becker Museum, the Alte Nationalgalerie, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, and the Musée Camille Claudel, Nogent-sur-Seine.
