Camouflage

In the organizer's words:

Yes, that's right: Camouflage. The masters of sadness in the guise of electronic songs. The band that spilled over from Bietigheim-Bissingen directly into the USA in 1987 with "The Great Commandment", with music that ingeniously combined the coolness of Kraftwerk, the pop of OMD and the melancholy gloom of Depeche Mode.
Heiko Maile, Oliver Kreyssig and Marcus Meyn were students with synthesizers and a keen ear for the signs of the times. It was a world characterized by fears and threatening scenarios, non-aggression pacts and embargoes, ruled by old men and a woman. The Cold War was almost over, the Berlin Wall was still standing. Camouflage threw their music into this landscape, driving, demanding and so sad and beautiful that you wanted to dance to it endlessly. With their debut album "Voices & Images", the band enjoyed success on both sides of the Atlantic. In the USA, they even reached number one in the Billboard Dance Charts. With the follow-up "Methods of Silence", they were able to seamlessly build on this and created a gem of a hit with the single "Love Is A Shield", which is still stirring dancefloors and radio stations around the world today.

A lot has happened on our planet since then and the band has come a long way, which has been anything but straightforward. Tours all over the globe, film music compositions ("Die Welle" and "Wir sind Nacht"), an opera project has been a grandiose success and more albums have been released.

Camouflage are not a LaLa band who base their existence on writing dance hits and love songs; their music and lyrics touch on nothing less than the big questions of our time.

The beats and basses, synth arpeggios and pads are their unmistakable fingerprint, no less than the touchingly indulgent voice of singer Marcus Meyn.

You can rely on the band Camouflage. They do not rest, they do not live in memory. With their latest album "Greyscale", they have created a beautiful, powerful piece of music for the here and now that is about us and our lives.

The concert is unseated. (But there are seats in the stands for early birds)
