An event from the series "Literature on Time"

It is the summer of 2130, somewhere in the north of Italy. The painter Esther and the engineer Thea are living two of the best lives that are still possible in those years. "Spes I" is a special place for special people; the fact that there is a questionable concept behind the villages is only known to the operating organization - for now.

With serenity and quiet happiness, the residents of Spes I pursue their passions, meet other residents on balmy evenings and enjoy light drinks. The atmosphere in the village is regulated by a dome and a ventilation system on the one hand, and by coaching and mindfulness on the other. Esther is happy to be able to live and work here, isolated from the horrors of the outside world. Her paintings, which always show two suns, are among the most sought-after works of art today.

The ending is reassuring is a novel about friendship, about creativity and about how hopefully one can and must look to the future. With playful joy, Carla Kaspari creates a dystopian utopia that is both grotesque and dramatic, exciting and entertaining.

Carla Kaspari, born in 1991, studied literature and musicology in Bonn and Paris. She lives in Cologne and works as a freelance author. Her texts appear in various publications and formats.
