The concert is the first party of the Swinging Weekender in Schwerin. The first round of a small, fine swing festival with lots of music, dance (workshops) and community!

Cats and Dinosaurs are a feminist-socialist swing collective from Gothenburg, Sweden. Here, old-fashioned jazz meets punk attitude and political lyrics, making the band the most radical swing band in the world. A palpable and visible joy of playing makes for an impressive live energy!
The band's music is anchored in the radical roots of jazz and blues, but all standards have been thrown overboard in favor of their own left-feminist songbook. Jazz was the punk of the twenties, and Cats and Dinosaurs want to honor the creativity and radicalism of the jazz pioneers by embracing their energy and attitude rather than copying them note for note.
By the way: CATS AND DINOSAURS are also Lindyhop dancers! That's the secret to their perfect dance groove that will get any dance floor going while subversive little messages sneak into your subconscious like bright red silverfish.
The band has been playing since 2014, touring all over Sweden as well as Norway, Denmark and Germany. In 2024, they released their long-awaited fifth album, Sabotage, an explosive cocktail of catchy swing, heartbreaking ballads and angry punk.
