"how to peel an orange", Karma's debut album out on September 13th, 2024 is a deep exploration of cultural heritage, trauma and community. An activist, avant-garde musician and keen scholar of popular culture, Karma Catena holds both compassionate storytelling and sonic experimentation close to her heart. Across the record the 22-year-old weaves tales of her revolutionary ancestors with messages of support for those marginalized by our cruel world. Her most introspective work to date, Karma's determined voice is unifying and reaches far beyond her own journey.

Bringing together maximalist pop moments with the polyglot's striking lyricism, how to peel an orange is an eclectic body of work. Oscillating between comfort and discomfort, the record's musical palette ranges from bombastic synth work to ethereal, heartfelt balladry. Despite its many touchpoints, and languages, Karma remains at the core of everything as a beacon of enduring hope and resilience. Inspired by powerful women who have maintained their creative integrity like Kate Bush, Imogen Heap, SOPHIE, Björk and Caroline Polachek, she tackles the challenges of the music industry.

For C'est Karma music has always been a tool for change. From causing trouble with her punk band the age of 14 to her bold, hyperpop-infused 2022 EP "Amuse-Bouche" - Karma's passionate heart is always the anchor.

Channeling her frustration into words and music, the daughter of a Portuguese mother and an Italian father has gained critical acclaim from renowned publications such as Rolling Stone, GQ, ELLE or The Line Of Best Fit and collaborations with Canal+ or La Blogothèque.

Growing up in Luxembourg, fortunately, meant opportunities rather than obstacles. C'est Karma was quick to hit international stages and festivals. After her first shows in North America and supporting the likes of Tove Lo or UCHE YARA across Europe the young artist is now gearing up for her own headline shows presenting her debut album.
