Champions Slam - Poetry Slam Stars

**An epic battle of poetry: 4 spoken word stars duel it out in the Philharmonie** Ball-busting champion power at the Champions Slam at the start of the year. Poetry slam, the ill-bred stepchild of so-called high literature, comes to the Champions Slam in a suit and glittering evening gown. Because a champagne reception is the new bottled beer!

Four of the country's best spoken word artists present stage literature that at best invites you to laugh, cry, think and marvel at the same time. The special feature: only poets who have already won a championship title are invited to the Champions Slam in the Philharmonie. Or came damn close. Clear the stage for the POETRY SLAM STARS!

ANNA BARTLING

Anna Bartling is the Swiss army knife of cabaret: she is a stand-up comedian, poetry slammer and presenter. The psychology graduate has given up her scientific career for the time being because she would rather make people laugh than actually do important things. As Hamburg's state champion, she represents the Hanseatic city's slam scene in the Philharmonie.

JULIAN HEUN

Julian Heun is a poetry slammer, radio presenter and author. He is currently producing the multimedia comedy series "Herrn Mangold" for Radio Fritz (RBB) as well as his radio show "Heunchens Eckkneipe" and is writing his second novel. The first, "Strawberry Fields Berlin", was published by Rowohlt Berlin in 2013. As a three-time German-speaking champion (U20 & team) and three-time Berlin champion, he represents the capital's slam scene at the Champions Slam.

LOTTA EMILIA

Lotta Emilia is runner-up in the German-speaking Poetry Slam Championships. With her texts about emotions, social conflicts and uncomfortable topics, she created a little hype on the Tiktok platform in 2023. As a Munich resident, she represents the Bavarian scene at the Champions Slam.

ULI HÖHMANN

Uli Höhmann became Hessian state poetry slam champion in 2023. With his satirical, time-critical and sometimes rather nasty texts and stories, he has been performing regularly on slam stages since 2021, writes for the radio and works as a journalist. With his second solo program "Gab's Tote?" he founded the press cabaret genre.

YUNUS (musical feature)

Born in a metropolis of millions, raised in the pomaded provinces: YUNUS has always been at home between the poles. On the one hand his middle-class origins and viola studies in Hanover, on the other the excessive artistic life of Berlin. With natural lightness and melancholic gallows humor, he tells pictorial stories on contemporary indie/hip-hop beats.

ORTWIN BADER-ISKRAUT (Presenter)

Ortwin Bader-Iskraut has built up some of the most important Kiezpoeten series since 2015 and shaped the Berlin scene as an organizer. As a presenter, he hosts the big Best Of shows in the Columbiahalle, the Philharmonie Berlin or the Freiluftkino Friedrichshain. Away from the poetry slam stage, Ortwin Bader Iskraut works as a reporter and concert critic for radioeins.
