Chaos / warum? - Pipelines und andere Querverbindungen. Künstlerinnengespräch mit Alina Buga

The conceptual artist Alina Buga (*1971) works intermedially with installations and photography. She moves between Regensburg and Bucharest.

The multi-part work "The Pipeline" is conceptual art based on an intellectual exploration of the theme of "water". Alina Buga grew up in Romania near the Danube. Her perception is shaped by the effects of nature (water levels) and people (shipping) on the river. Buga's photographic works capture the conditions of a photo performance that revolves around the abuse of power and environmental pollution (question "why" in the languages of the countries around the Danube Delta and the Black Sea: Romanian, Ukrainian, Turkish). In the showcases, the Danube landscape is symbolized in a kind of miniature model, as beautiful as it is endangered (menacingly penetrating red, pollutants in the form of plastic bubbles).
