Chess Night: Blitzschachturnier [3+2]

In the organizer's words:

Come along to Chess Night at The Londoner in Dortmund, treat yourself to a few tasty drinks and show off your skills in our blitz chess tournament!

The thinking time per game is 3 minutes + 2 seconds extra time per move.

Tournament mode

The preliminary round is used to rank your playing strength. At the beginning, 8 groups of four players will be formed in which everyone plays against everyone else. At the end, your final group ranking will decide whether you will continue in the subsequent knockout phase in the Beginners, Advanced (24 or more participants) or Pro Cup. Here you will meet other players with a similar level of play to yours, so that you have a fair chance of finishing on the winner's podium in your cup and taking home an award.

Procedure

19:00 - 19:20: Registration & warm up*
19:30: Start of the tournament
approx. 22:45: Award ceremony

What awaits you

✅ Blitz chess tournament (3+2)
✅ 4 - 8 games per player (depending on the number of participants & the tournament mode)
✅ As fair as possible, knockout phase with Beginners, Advanced & Pro Cup, depending on playing strength
✅ Cups for the top 3 in their respective cup

*Note: Please be on time or let us know in good time via DM or Instagram if you will be late. Otherwise we will reassign your places to the people on the waiting list if necessary.
