„China Eco Design“ Ausstellung nachhaltiger Gestaltungskunst aus China

In the organizer's words:

The philosophy of "unity between man and nature" has been the basis of Chinese thought for thousands of years and expresses Chinese civilization's respect for the environment and the pursuit of peace. Nowadays, the creativity of a young Chinese generation opens up new opportunities for a sustainable future and promotes cooperation and a global cultural understanding. From individuals to communities to society as a whole, awareness of sustainable development is a key to shaping a peaceful and prosperous future.

The global exhibition "China Eco Design" kicked off at the United Nations Headquarters in October 2023 and will next reach Berlin. The exhibition presents 26 selected projects and 81 outstanding exhibits from 10 provinces and autonomous regions in China that have been created over the past five years. The exhibition tells the story of how a new generation of sustainable designers and leading institutions are integrating Far Eastern aesthetics into everyday life and using it to build a community.

In a variety of themes, the exhibition covers rural regeneration, the use of recycled materials, ecological co-creations, natural healing, sustainable education, cultural diversity and the creativity of ethnic minorities. A special place is given to the role of women in this process. All themes are closely linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and address key global issues such as sustainable cities, responsible consumption and production, health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, economic growth and innovation in industry.

As part of the vernissage, Cui Qiao, Chairwoman of the Beijing Contemporary Art Foundation, and other experts from China will give specialist lectures on the topic of "Innovative development of intangible cultural heritage through contemporary design". There will be opportunities for dialog.

This exhibition is organized by the Chinese Cultural Center Berlin in cooperation with the Beijing Contemporary Art Foundation.
