With his sixth album "Cloud Souvenirs", American singer-songwriter Chris Staples offers a wealth of indie/folk melodies that not only feed the restless heart and curious soul, but also provide a portal for the listener to sit down, dive in and disappear.

"Memories are souvenirs we carry around with us," says Staples. "They remind us of where we come from and who we are. Memories are also like clouds in a way. They change slowly and our interpretation of them is everything - they're subjective." Recorded in his native Florida, "Cloud Souvenirs" evokes what it means to be a musical artist in the incessant white noise and relentless digital distraction of the unfolding 21st century, something Staples has pursued for over 25 years in the music industry.
"I've always made songs to cope. Life is a bit of a mess, and writing songs is an attempt to make sense of it all," says the artist.

"A lot of my songs have a certain determination, they're the final answer to the problem I've been working on. And I think that's why some people find solace in these songs." With a central theme revolving around the idea of "now" and how it relates to the existential trials and tribulations of daily life, Staples expresses his timeless sense of self and perpetual purpose - hallmarks of his ongoing journey for truth and connection.
