On exclusive special dates, the work will also be on display for its full 24-hour duration - including at night and in the morning hours when the museum is usually closed.
For several years, Christian Marclay scoured the film and television archives for scenes in which clocks are depicted or the time is announced. He captured every minute of every day in thousands of excerpts. The 24-hour montage is always synchronized with the time on location in the exhibition space, so that inner-film time and real time coincide.
