Until now, Haley Fohr has been working in the field of tension between iridescent chamber music, orchestral avant-garde and unfathomable electro-folk - and thus often far ahead of her time. Now, however, the present seems to have caught up with their oeuvre and the music of "Halo On The Inside", which has once again been massively transformed into electronic music, seems like a soundtrack to the state of the world in 2025, where beauty and destruction, digital, rapidly accelerating madness and analog residual reason are engaged in an incessant tête-a-tête.

In her new tracks, Circuit des Yeux half takes the pulse of the current social disruption - but just as boldly sends her compositions towards the dancefloor, romanticism and positivism. The most important medium for this: lots of synthetic sounds reminiscent of Depeche Mode's crisis years around the turn of the millennium, starting with "Exciter": industrial soundscapes, bone-dry electro-blues, digital noise and rhythmic landscapes that are sometimes jagged, sometimes forcefully pushing forward - but always with flawless, beautiful sound.

And then there is her dark alto voice, which can easily climb four octaves up the scale in an almost operatic manner: Grace Jones meets Kate Bush, so to speak, with this timbre - and the two combine to form an artistic figure on the borderline between avant-garde and pop art: Circuit Des Yeux is no longer just the singer and musician Haley Fohr, but a shaman of modern synthetic sounds, a high priestess of beats and bytes who proclaims her sermons with declamatory ductus.
