City of Play - “Offside Traps” - Spielworkshop mit Sebastian Quack und Maria Saridaki

Is urban space a playing field for you? Have you always wanted to develop your own game?

Sebastian Quack and Maria Saridaki from Trust in Play, the European School of Urban Game Design, invite you to the two-day workshop "Offside Traps". Together we will develop new site-specific games and playful interventions in public space, using local stories and a big pile of sports equipment. Site-Specific Games are physical, social, corporeal and poetic games that take place beyond the fixed boundaries of screens, game boards and playgrounds. Instead, they use the specific characteristics of the urban environment as a starting point for a collaborative and practical design process: the urban landscape, the way people use it, their stories, discussions, hopes and fears.

The games developed together in the workshop will become part of the Playground and can then be played in all City of Play project cities.

As part of City of Play, a varied hands-on program full of creative development and playful encounters will be created. Whether cycling, folding, building, sewing, puzzling or exploring - together with artists and experts, City of Play invites you to discover new perspectives on the city and community. The workshops and activities are open to everyone - to join in, try things out and create.
