Gala concert: From the New World

Premiere: The first appearance of the new General Music Director Jordan de Souza at the Cityring Concerts!

The Cityring Concerts 2025 get off to an energetic start: jazz meets classical music, Broadway feeling meets symphonic grandeur. Together with the Frank Dupree Trio, the Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Jordan de Souza, will bring Leonard Bernstein's lively Candide Overture, Gershwin's legendary Rhapsody in Blue and Dvořák's rousing Symphony from the New World to Friedensplatz.

Particularly exciting: the world premiere of a symphonic orchestral version of the Concert Rhapsody by Nikolai Kapustin.

An evening full of rhythmic power, great melodies and the joy of musical discovery - conducted by the new General Music Director in his first Cityring concert.
