Never have more people lived on Earth, never has our influence on the planet been greater, never have we been more closely networked - our society is changing at an ever-increasing pace. The exhibition Civilization follows the visible traces of humanity around the globe from the perspective of over 100 internationally renowned photographers. It illuminates a variety of aspects of our extremely complex coexistence - from the great achievements to the collective failures of the past.

On the occasion of its 40th anniversary, Kunsthalle München is dedicating this exhibition to the question of how we live today and illustrates the diversity and contradictions of our civilization.
