Claudia Carbo // Latin & Swing Night (Konzert)

Latin rhythms and joie de vivre - that's what Claudia Carbo combines in her "Latin & Swing Night" concerts. Boleros from the tradition of the "Buena Vista Social Club", bossa novas from the warm beaches of Brazil, tangos from Buenos Aires and swing tunes from the era of Duke Ellington and Ella Fitzgerald.

The singer, who grew up in Peru, interprets the entire spectrum of Latin jazz. She switches from one musical genre to the next with verve, and her authenticity and improvisational skills have made her a sought-after artist on cultural stages and festivals for years.

She will be accompanied by Dr. Jörg Heuser. The accomplished guitarist studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He was trained by luminaries such as Joe Pass, Bob Mintzer and Ray Brown and completed his doctorate on the jazz guitarist Pat Martino.

He will be joined by saxophonist Thomas Bachmann. He received the "Förderpreis Musik" from the University of Mainz and has been in the "Saxophone Masterclass" led by David Liebman several times. He teaches jazz saxophone and improvisation and is a regular member of the hr-Bigband. He has worked with Jörg Heuser and Claudia Carbo for many years.
