It's not easy for 14-year-old Frank: he's in the middle of puberty and still has his coming-out years ahead of him. The shy boy gains recognition through his talent for drawing: his monster drawings are particularly popular with a friend from volleyball class. Meanwhile, everything in Frank's family revolves around his father's depression. A ray of hope appears in the form of healer Thea, who gives the family hope with her secret knowledge of negative energies and healing stones. Can she help the father? But then Thea finds out about Frank's monster drawings and his insecurities about his sexual identity...

Claus Daniel Herrmann tells a multi-layered coming-of-age story in his debut novel "Pink Monsters". He impressively illuminates the power of ideologies and their influence on people if they are given space. Claus Daniel Herrmann was one of the finalists for the Berthold Leibinger Comic Book Prize with "Pinke Monster".
