CLAUS&KLAUS FEAT. JOCHEN RÜCKERT

40 years after the worldwide success "An der Nordseeküste" and 10 years after their last concert as a jazz formation, "Claus&Klaus" are now performing publicly in Hamburg for the first time again!

"Claus&Klaus" play jazz. The two soloists of the NDR Bigband, Claus Stötter (trp) and Klaus Heidenreich (trb), have come together to perform in a quintet formation at Birdland. Influenced by the sound of classical hard bob, inspired by elements of contemporary jazz, they present their own music, which is characterized by a love of improvisation and joy of playing.

In Giorgi Kiknadze (b) and Lukas Klapp (p), they have found two congenial partners who have formed the backbone of various Hamburg rhythm groups for many years and have long since established themselves in the scene with their own formations.

"This evening's special guest is drummer Jochen Rückert. A resident of New York City for 30 years, he is an internationally sought-after sideman and bandleader who regularly performs with his own quartet (with Mark Turner, Lage Lund and Matt Penman), the trios of Melissa Aldana and Fred Hersch, or Nils Wogram's Root 70, in clubs and at festivals in Europe and around the world.
