Who does the work when disaster people rarely find building sites beautiful? Salvage Art and Clitter provide answers! New wave meets art-core, clitter-punk meets synth-pop. Be there when a city with a K takes over the city with a K.

CLITTER (Krefeld)

Four catastrophists meet on a tiger carpet and rarely find building sites beautiful, sing about dead people's hair and establish a new music genre in the process: clitter punk. What one could understand by this is "artificial punk" (quote from M. Jansen) or simply artcore ;-).

Sometimes soulful and melancholic, sometimes angry and snotty, always critical and combative, that's how you could summarize this genre. The four of them came together in the summer of 2023 on a whim and created their own clitterverse. We are all mad here!

SALVAGE ART (Cologne)

Uncompromisingly analog-electronic: Cologne duo Salvage Art combine genres such as new wave, synthpop and krautrock with "groovy ease" (OX Fanzine). In 2021, the debut "non" was released on the Cologne indie label Sitzer Records - produced by Jan Philipp Janzen (Von Spar/Dumbo Tracks). The follow-up album "konform" is in the works, also with Janzen at the controls. It will be released in fall 2025.

With the track "Wer macht die Arbeit", Salvage Art is represented on the sampler "Future Sounds of Kraut Vol. III", which was released by Compost Records at the end of 2024. "A wonderful 80s synthesizer attitude" attests ByteFM. Salvage Art embarks on a journey into a post-capitalist world full of existential questions: "Who does the work when the worker rules? Who has the money when the capitalist loses. Who makes the sausage when the butcher rebels?"

Roger van Lunteren, responsible for synthesizers and programming at Salvage Art, has released numerous tracks and albums on various electro labels such as Heimelektro Ulm and FireScope since the 1990s. Thomas Mersch (vocals, bass, guitar) is part of the Krautwave trio Kratzen.
