CLUB MILANGO: Dallmann, Haas & Lamby

In the organizer's words:

Accordion and saxophone - two instruments play - with each other and with the wind of breath that makes their instruments sound.
Accordion and saxophone - these instruments are actually at home in different musical worlds: the domain of the saxophone is undoubtedly jazz. The accordion, on the other hand
has its roots in tango, musette, folk music and world music (even if there is a long tradition of the jazz accordion). The encounter between these two instruments is also an encounter between two worlds.
Dallmann and Haas allow themselves to be drawn into each other's musical "home zone". Old and new jazz, blues and musette enter into new relationships with each other.

Thus, the program has its lively breath through the shared pleasure in musical play, the joy in jointly created nuances, the exuberant fun in spontaneous musical excursions; and in addition to traditional musical material, there are also own, atmospheric compositions that play with timbres, with the breath, with dancing rhythm.
This encounter is congenially accompanied and complemented by Berlin double bassist Dominik Lamby.
The current trio program "Sound Journeys" takes us on a wide-ranging journey through (almost) everything we enjoy together: from traditional hot jazz in the Django Reinhard style to Argentinian milonga classics and a medley of Fellini film melodies by the brilliant composer
Nino Rota to jazz arrangements of works by Astor Piazzolla and his own compositions.
Peter M. Haas (accordion) from Berlin is known to many accordion players: his accordion books helped to introduce the influences of jazz, rock and world music to the German accordion scene. He currently plays in the "Renée la Cantactriz Trio" of the Chilean actress and tango singer
actress and tango singer Renée Figueroa.
Bernd Dallmann (saxophone, clarinet, flute) lives in Hemkenrode am Elm, teaches jazz saxophone at the Braunschweig Municipal Music School, where he also leads the jazz combo and youth big band. His concert engagements include playing with the "Elm Saxophone Quartet"
under the motto Baroque and Jazz, the trio "Nowottny" (Django, Bach, Albanian ...) and the ensemble "ClaRo" (from classical to rock).
Dominik Lamby (bass) comes from Rhineland-Palatinate and lives in Berlin. He graduated in 2009 after seven years of study at the Hanover University of Music and Drama with a degree in jazz instrumental teaching. There he received lessons from Lars Hansen (electric bass) and Detlef Beyer (double bass), among others. During his time in Lower Saxony, Dominik took part in numerous jazz and pop/rock projects and was the first choice for many years on double bass
and electric bass in the Rhineland-Palatinate state youth jazz orchestra. He has completed workshops with Peter Herbolzheimer, B.O. van Royen, Dieter Glawischnig, Terell Stafford, Klaus Stoetter and Richie Beirach, among others.
