CODE COLOGNE - an art exhibition that connects, questions and inspires.
The Zebra League, a collective of artists and curators with roots in Germany, Japan and Vietnam, is initiating a new, international exhibition series. The aim is to build social bridges and promote artistic exchange between different cultures and an international audience.
The series kicks off in 2025 at the Kunsthafen (Germany) with the CODE COLOGNE exhibition. In the following years, the series will continue to Japan (2026) and Vietnam (2027).
CODE COLOGNE not only marks the beginning of this series, but also sets new standards in the exhibition experience. In addition to the high-quality selection of contemporary works of art, the focus is also on actively involving visitors.
The exhibition invites visitors to discover art in a very personal way. At selected points, clues, puzzles and background stories - about the works themselves, their themes, contexts of creation or biographies - can be called up using a smartphone. In addition, seating options allow visitors to interact with the works in a more intensive and relaxed way. The result is a curated puzzle tour that makes knowledge transfer playful and immersive.
The exhibition focuses on the artists' individual codes - visual languages, concepts and perspectives that make their works unique. They are the common thread that runs through all the exhibitions in the series. Contemporary works by artists from Japan, Vietnam, China, Colombia, Georgia and Germany will be on display.
