Comedy Acting - Workshop mit Nadine Antler

In the organizer's words:

What is funny? How does comedy work where you neither make fun of your characters nor sacrifice the scene for a gag? How can we improvise free scenes that are guaranteed to amuse the audience?

"The secret of being funny? Don't be funny!" True to this motto, participants will learn how to transform contrived, strained "entertaining" into authentic comedy acting.

In this workshop, we approach the topic of comedy from different angles. Using content from clown work and the world of improvised theater, we will explore how comedy works in general and how we can create comedy in freely improvised scenes.

Nadine Antler will join the workshop participants in their search for the comic premise and the "game" of the scene. Rooting the scene in the real world, recognizing patterns and the ability to obviously escalate play a major role in this.
