Our comedy workshops take place in small groups (maximum 12 participants) in a large rehearsal room in the middle of Ehrenfeld.

Comedy workshop: Writing and presentation

This workshop is aimed at beginners who have little or no stage experience, right through to advanced comedians who have been on stage several times but are still looking for that "crunch point".

Day 1: Writing workshop

Please bring a comedy act of yours. Maximum duration 5 minutes (1 A4 sheet) or less. If you have never been on stage before, no problem: write, let your ideas run free! We will then go through all the numbers together, give you space to revise them, discuss the "BOING! philosophy", give tips, suggestions, support and carry out various writing and creative exercises to get the best out of your ideas.

Day 2: Presentation workshop

Now it's time to present your number to the others for the first time. We will work on everything that is important to present your material in the best possible way. We will try to get the best out of your act and see how you can be interesting, authentic, genuine and above all funny on stage.

After the workshop, you may have the opportunity to test your act on the same evening. If not, we will help you to arrange an open mic performance. Even after the workshop, workshop leader Manuel Wolff can help you with any queries by e-mail or provide you with advice and support in (additionally bookable) individual coaching sessions.

About the workshop leader:

Manuel Wolff is the founder of the BOING! Comedy Club and has been professionally active as a stand-up comedian for 20 years. He has performed at the Quatsch Comedy Club, NightWash, Komische Nacht, on AIDA, Mein SChiff, Traumschiff, and is doing the new program at Bochumer Variete et cetera. Ern has won 7 cabaret awards and tours throughout Germany with his solo and mix shows. He also performs internationally, e.g. in Amsterdam, Brussels and London. He gave a TedX lecture on comedy ("creating world peace one laugh at a time" (to be found on YouTube) and knows all the tricks of the trade - his musical training and many years of work in improvisational theater also help in the areas of timing, spontaneity and dealing with complex situations.
