Comic-Werkstatt mit der Illustratorin Lara Swiontek

Comics/graphic novels inspire many people, regardless of age. Would you like to try your hand at creating your own comic strip? Then you've come to the right place!

During the workshop, with the right technique, you will quickly achieve results that you might not have thought possible before. The big challenge is to find the right balance between the text and the drawings to tell your story. Lara Swiontek, illustrator/comic artist/graphic designer from Lübeck, will be on hand to help you with this. She will show you examples from her work and tricks on how to overcome your fear of the blank page to realize your idea. The best thing: you don't need to be able to draw! A story idea is enough. Even if you don't think you're particularly talented as an artist, you'll be amazed at how easy drawing can be.

Lara Swiontek, born in 1988 in the Segeberg district, is a freelance illustrator, graphic designer and comic artist. In 2020, she obtained her diploma in communication design and media in Wismar. Today she lives and works in Lübeck. Her debut "Verwandlung" was published by avant-verlag in spring 2022. She received the Hanse-Meid-Stiftung sponsorship award for the graphic novel.

Who can take part? Young people between the ages of 13 and 15 (primarily intended for youth consecration participants, but we are also open to inquiries from peers who do not celebrate youth consecration)
