COMPANIA SINCARA SPIELT: (K)EIN SOMMERNACHTSTRAUM

Waldemar, Eusebius and Kerbel return once again. Once again it's Compania Sincara playing Shakespeare - differently! But wait a minute: "(A)Midsummer Night's Dream"? What's that supposed to be? A dream or not a dream? Both. Hum, hum. How is that supposed to work? It only works with clowns. They're crazy. And how! It's going to be great theater again! Really? Of course! This is what you've been dreaming of. You've only seen Shakespeare like this here and there and nowhere else twice! - "I had a dream. It's beyond common sense to say what kind of dream it was."

There they are again: Waldemar, Eusebius and Kerbel - three clowns. And they're waiting again. Bloody hell! Will they ever get out of waiting? Nobody knows. At least they're not leaving us behind. But surely there must be a solution? No, they don't have any solutions, but they do have songs. And so they sing - about love, the wisdom of the donkey, happiness, death and the course of the world. And at the same time they play with (not) a Midsummer Night's Dream, but the odd craftsman scene. This will be real 'folk theater'. They play with fairies and elves, lions and lovers, with the moon and a wall, with theater and with a puck - a deeply tragic comedy of a dream: "... and it should be called 'Zettel's Dream' because it gets bogged down bottomlessly." In the end, they disappear again this time. Forever? The hope remains.

With "(K)Ein Sommernachtstraum", the Leipzig theater collective remains true to its special style. This will be no ordinary play, this will be an evening of songs, a theater festival of transformations. Compania Sincara takes the audience on a journey through a dream on a midsummer's night, in which reality is suspended for a moment. It goes deep down to the bottom of the Vltava and up to the clouds, to the mountain and onto the ship, to Spain or Athens, with a scythe across flower meadows, anywhere in the world. You don't have to be a Shakespeare expert to be taken along for the ride and have fun. After all, there are these three loving characters, the slightly rebellious clowns Eusebius, Waldemar and Kerbel. They are what makes this evening so unique and entice the audience to spin, play and sing along with them. Because that always works.

After "Hamlet" (2022) and "As You Like It or As You Like It" (2023), Compania Sincara is bringing its third Shakespeare to the stage together with Schauspiel Leipzig and Schaubühne Lindenfels, completing a cycle that began in 2022 in "Dreiklang für Leipzig". The grand finale follows! - "Well roared, lion!"
