The hustle and bustle and beauty of the big city: the Berlin band Conic Rose fascinates with wistful, groovy sound collages that sound like Chopin, Bach, Radiohead and lofi beats. Hoarse trumpet sounds, rocky improvised electric guitar, synthesizer textures and casual charm paint a playful, melancholy portrait of city life. Trumpeter Konstantin Döben and pianist/keyboardist Johannes Arzberger know each other from Clueso's band. Together with guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Bertram Burkert, bassist Franziska Aller and drummer Silvan Strauss, they find a common mood. Playing together, their pieces often emerge directly from the first improvisation.
