Cristina Branco is internationally recognized as one of the most successful fadistas of our time, captivating audiences worldwide with her profound musicality. However, the Portuguese artist does not see herself as a classical fadista, but rather as a "Cantora de Fado". She creates something completely unique from the folklore of her homeland and sings to the unusual accompaniment of Portuguese guitar, piano and double bass. Framed in this extraordinary bed of sound, Branco interprets a broad mixture of songs in different styles. She combines electronic and percussive elements with polyphonic background vocals, and her joy of improvisation "breathes new life into folklore and enriches fado with jazz and world music" (France Musique).
