Thomas and Steve dream of a motorcycle trip from Germany to China.

While looking for a suitable touring motorcycle, Thomas meets Jürgen, from whom he buys his motorcycle. Only later does he learn that Jürgen had similar travel plans, but is no longer able to realize them due to a serious illness. Thomas realizes that he has taken on much more than just a motorcycle and decides to let Jürgen participate in the journey in his own way.

In spring 2017, Steve and Thomas set off for China on two old Honda Africa Twins. The first few days are already characterized by capricious weather, breakdowns and a heavy crash. In Turkey, Thomas struggles with a panic attack in a hot air balloon and has an encounter that almost costs him his life months later.

In Iran, the journey is put to the test for the first time in an unexpected way. A short time later, however, they meet Dutch motorcycle traveler David, who joins the trip and brings a breath of fresh air to the group. Together they cross impressive desert landscapes, get into trouble with the police and find shelter from a sandstorm in a mosque. They discover shipwrecks in the desert, conquer one of the highest drivable mountain passes in the world and immerse themselves in fairytale towns straight out of "1001 Nights".

The Pamir Highway finally puts the group to the ultimate test and allows them to make an important decision that will shape the rest of their journey.
The journey is more than just an adventure. It is a discovery of the world, an encounter with life and oneself and a reminder of what really counts in life.
