Crying feels somehow private, sometimes embarrassing, inappropriate. In Germany, tears are largely excluded from the public, collective space. Yet there are many things we could cry about.

We invite you to join us in trying to better understand tears. Which of us cries? And who has to pull themselves together? When are tears strategic and when are they accidental? Why is it so difficult to speak and cry at the same time? Who or what do we cry for and what don't we cry for?

CRYBABY is a transfeminist show about crying with drag, dance, video and tea.

The Obertunte hosts as the chief archivist (bourgeois Jonárosa Oremek), performances by Malisakij, Rashida, Sakin Olosun, lislesso, Tobi Honest and Amelio Mattachine. Stage, concept and production by Raffael van Dyke.

For the performance on April 13, we ask all spectators to wear an FFP2 mask in the interior of the Cammerspiele in order to make the performance accessible to, among others. People with ME/CFS(https://www.mecfs.de/was-ist-me-cfs/) safer and more accessible. We will provide masks at the entrance. In addition, an air purifier will be switched on during all performances."
