The demonstration day will once again begin with a central rally from 11:30 a.m. on the stage in front of the opera. There, representatives of the queer community, associations and initiatives from Leipzig and the surrounding area will have their say. Our ambassador Sebastian Krummbiegel will also be live on stage. Lili Alexander & Oliver Viehweg will host the program this year.
At 13:00, we will all set off together to color the city center while thousands of us demonstrate for diversity, visibility and equality again this year. You will probably find the demo route together with other helpful information about the event on our website and our social media channels a week in advance.
You can also follow the stage program live on YouTube.
We are still looking for volunteer stewards to ensure a safe and successful demo.
Lili Alexander combines drag, singing, activism and performance into an expressive overall concept. With a keen sense for social issues, she brings queer perspectives to the stage. Lili Alexander recently made her directorial debut at LOFFT - DAS THEATER in Leipzig with TO TRANSITION, in which she painted a multi-layered picture of transition - personal, political and poetic. As a moderator, she leads through events with charm and attitude - always with the aim of opening up spaces for diversity, visibility and creative freedom.
Oliver Viehweg (he/she) is a creative and competent person in the cultural, event and new work sector. As Head of Coworking & Events, Oliver manages the queer-feminist event and coworking space Basislager as part of the team. Oliver's work focuses in particular on innovation & workspace 2.0, diversity and inclusion. Oliver also hosts the queer career network meeting "Proudr" in Leipzig.
The information on accessibility relates primarily to Augustusplatz as the location of the rally. It is possible for people with disabilities to follow the stage action at the rally from a platform with a wheelchair ramp. German sign language interpretation will be provided for the rally. There will also be barrier-free toilets on each side of Augustusplatz. We have made sure that the route of the demonstration is as barrier-free as possible. Once again this year, there will be demonstration vehicles for people with walking disabilities. Assistants will be on hand to help with the use of the platform and vehicles if required.
