Summer 2024: A huge crowd stands in front of the stage, whose impatient waiting immediately turns into exuberant applause when Chino, Mateo, Johnny Strange and Don Cali take to the stage: The world has changed a lot in the last 22 years. But the boundless joy and unbroken dynamism of a Culcha Candela show has hardly changed at all!
With over five million records sold, almost 35 precious metal awards and more than 1,500 live shows, Culcha Candela may no longer be reinventing themselves, but they don't have to. In recent years, the Berlin cult collective has shown time and again that they can shake energetic club bangers and hits with attitude out of their colorful sleeves with playful ease - today as in the past. After almost a quarter of a century in show biz, the band continues to tour sold-out venues, has just delivered the theme song for the European Handball Championships in Germany ("Celebration") and celebrated the 15th anniversary of the smash hit "MONSTA" in September 2024. CULCHA CANDELA came up with something very special to mark the occasion: with a whole box of great surprises, strong collaborations and a brand new MONSTA 15 EP, September was monstastically strong.
They recently showed that the boys are not above having fun when they released a fun dance video on TikTok for Shirin David's song "Bauch Beine Po" and announced that they would release a new single if the clip received 1 million views. They promptly announced the release of their new single KILLAH (06.09.) the following week. The 1 million views were of course quickly collected!
