The pianist Danielle Friedmann and the singer Sophia Bicking share a great admiration for Brazilian jazz and MPB - Música Popular Brasileira. In this concert, they pay tribute to the greats of Brazilian music with their interpretations of pieces by A.C. Jobim, Dorival Caymmi, Chico Buarque, Gal Costa and Caetano Veloso, among others. The unifying element is always the joy of playing, but also the deep melancholy that lies in the music - a music that is performed by both musicians with great virtuosity and musical depth. Their special guest is the Brazilian flautist and composer Mariana Zwarg, who after a 25-year career is known and celebrated for her very personal style of improvisation inspired by Brazilian rhythms. Expect a wonderful gathering of three artists from different parts of the world coming together to celebrate Brazilian music.

The Jazz im Kiez concert series presents talented musicians every Wednesday at Fuk;s Bar and Oblomow, two wonderful bars in Kreuzkölln / Reuterkiez.
