To all NIGHTWARMERS: the small, informal festival "Dark Skies over Witten" is already entering its 9th round in 2025!

Once again this year, the organizers of the Dark Skies over Witten festival have given their all to present you with a great, international and varied 2-day line-up. So be there again this year when the skies over Witten darken on the last weekend in March and look forward to The Cassandra Complex, Frustration, Darkways, Escape with Romeo, Psyche, Schrödinger, Black Doldrums, Gothzilla and last but not least Kalte Nacht.

To the BANDS:

With BLACK DOLDRUMS from Great Britain, we have once again tracked down a highly interesting new discovery at the sister festival in Morecambe (UK) and immediately invited them. Anyone who likes Joy Division will simply love these young Brits! They will open the show on Friday!

GOTHZILLA from Scotland were supposed to perform at our festival for a long time, but scheduling difficulties (including Corona) kept getting in the way of both the band and us. So this time we're all the more looking forward to the Scottish goth rockers with that nice touch of stadium rock in the best sense of the word!

SCHRÖDINGER from Mexico - yes, a typical Mexican name for a band from there!!! If you don't know these incredibly likeable South Americans yet, you should do so as soon as possible. They are currently blowing up the dancefloors with their 2 current hits The End of the Line and the Bauhaus cover Bela Lugosi's Dead! In London we were able to see the fantastic live impressions for ourselves - brilliant band - who will soon be playing big festivals (says my crystal ball...and I've always been able to rely on it...think Auger etc.). Guitar meets magical driving electro sound!

PSYCHE should have played with us in 2023, but unfortunately a bereavement in the band's family made this impossible. Unfortunately, we were already full with our line-up in 2024, so we can now finally look forward to the likeable New Wave icons! They helped invent New Wave in the 80s and they are finally live with us!

THE CASSANDRA COMPLEX were unfortunately canceled in 2024 due to the serious illness of singer Rodney Orpheus! But Rodney immediately signaled that he absolutely wanted to make up for the gig! And we were able to react immediately. The formation from US/UK will be our Saturday headliner again! Postpunk meets EBM will be the exciting motto! We are incredibly looking forward to this very special set (more will not be revealed yet)!!!

DARKWAYS is the replacement band for Rosegarden Funeral Party and they come from Barcelona in the beautiful Basque Country! Their debut album went completely through the roof in 2024 and has produced 3 super hits with songs like Inexistence, Resonance and I Like The Night. Live you can expect an explosive mix of modern new wave sound paired with great guitar riffs and absolutely infectious and extremely danceable songs!

ESCAPE WITH ROMEO from the greater Cologne area are the German old masters of post-punk. With their
super atmospheric sound, they have been captivating their fans for decades (albeit with small interruptions). When the band sent a sign of life again, there was no hesitation on our part! Here they rock out until the much-cited doctor comes!

FRUSTRATION from France will be there 100% this time and are really looking forward to seeing you! After their very understandable request to be released from their engagement at DSoW 2023, the French have a lot planned with and for you! Punk vs. postpunk of superlatives! Nobody stands still!!!

We can now also confirmKALTE NACHT from Greece as the last but not least band. These two likeable Athenians have been on our radar for a while and they will open the festival on Saturday. Their darkwave synth sound is guaranteed to inspire you and definitely get you dancing!
