Das Blaue Sofa mit Rachel Eliza Griffiths | Lesung & Gespräch

The author forum Das Blaue Sofa is taking place for the first time at Babylon in Berlin. The guest at this premiere is the American artist, poet and author Rachel Eliza Griffiths with her debut novel "Was ihr uns versprochen habt" (Penguin Verlag).

Actress Cynthia Micas, known from the series "Maxton Hall" among others, will read from the German text. Marie Kaiser (rbb, radioeins) will moderate the event.

"What You Promised Us" is about the two sisters Cinthy and Ezra, two black girls who grow up in a white America in the 1950s at the beginning of the civil rights movement. Their family is one of two Black families in the small town of Salt Point and their sheltered childhood comes to an abrupt end when hatred threatens their home and their dreams.
