Family and other evils. Based on the film of the same name by Thomas Vinterberg

A respected, beloved and good-natured family man invites his family and friends to dinner on his 60th birthday to celebrate life and a little bit of himself. They are all there. The quirky aunt, the opinionated grandfather, the almost deaf and blind great-grandmother, the hippie uncle, the intellectual, gay cousin and various spoiled children. Oh yes, all of them!

But when the eldest son raises his glass and reveals a long-kept secret about his father, the party is put to the test. The bitter truth threatens to affect the mood of the party. But good company can withstand such things and not let them spoil the fun.

Together with the guests, the audience takes a seat at the large table of this very special family celebration. Sarah Kortmann (director) takes up the motif of repression from Thomas Vinterberg's film of the same name and counters the shocking revelation with a highly entertaining, lavish celebration.
