Does love take on completely new forms in old age? In "The Secret Lives of the Elderly", eight people aged between 75 and 100 give intimate insights into their love and life stories - touching, honest and full of surprises.
Mohamed El Khatib, director and author, experienced during a project in French retirement homes how little we know about the wishes, desires and sensuality of older people. He brings these experiences to the stage in an extraordinary production. The performers share memories of their feelings, their desires and their experiences of love at the end of their lives. After acclaimed performances at the Festival d'Avignon and the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris, "The Secret Life of the Elderly" is now coming to the Ruhrfestspiele as a German premiere - a homage to the power of sensuality and the inventiveness of love - no matter what age.
