Ludwig Steinherr reads from his new novel:
Venue: Room 366
In his second novel, Ludwig Steinherr explores the major theme of forgetting and remembering. Julian, a local journalist, suddenly finds himself in a multiple life crisis: his wife Lotta leaves him for a colleague and no longer remembers their former love. Professor Kerner, whom Julian admired for his tolerant and enlightened theology of light, suddenly becomes demented and does not recognize him. But his career is also on the brink ... Julian feels like the victim of a major memory loss, a universal light amnesia in which everything important to him disappears. In desperation, he flees to Florence, where his love for Lotta and his career as a journalist once began. He hopes that at least Florence still remembers all that was lost. The journey is a huge disappointment, as the city seems completely different to Julian - nothing reminds him of the past light. But during his lonely wanderings, he meets the enigmatic Sarah, who is even more desperate than he is ...
With linguistic elegance and fine psychological intuition, Ludwig Steinherr tells a luminously clear-sighted relationship drama about loss, hope and the search for a deeper meaning. A novel of great relevance to the present - intense, touching, intelligent.
