Erez Majerantz writes plays and prose. "Life itself is the least of all evils" is a collection of absurdly funny short stories, all of which are set in Israel. With dark humor, which he heightens to the level of fairy tale, he opens doors that could lead out of the threatening everyday life, but do not want to shake it off or fade it out, but merely alienate it.

Erez Majerantz was born in Ramat Gan, Israel, in 1980. He studied comparative literature and philosophy at Bar Ilan University in his home town. He wrote columns and sketches and hosted a radio show. . From 2014 to 2016, three of his plays were performed at various Israeli theaters.

Attracted by German literature, especially Romanticism, Erez Majerantz decided to stay in Berlin in 2016 after numerous longer stays. Mystical, Jewish and Christian philosophies influence his work, as do the modern playwrights Brecht, Ionesco, Beckett and Vonnegut. He also works with motifs from popular culture and is inspired by alternative rock music. He is the lyricist and producer of the punk band Dysfunction. His play "Kritik der Vernunft" was performed at Tak Berlin in 2023.

Katja Chava Majerantz improvises freely on the recorder based on Erez Majerantz's texts.

The musician grew up in Koblenz, studied computer science in Berlin and recorder in Koblenz.

She plays in the Berlin Recorder Orchestra.
