The two budding chefs Alma and Othilie have hit the jackpot: Star chef Sina, of all people, takes them under her wing and takes them on a training tour across the world's major cities! But the budding friendship between the two young women cannot withstand the immense pressure to perform. When Sina dies unexpectedly and leaves them a restaurant at the mouth of the river Erft in Neuss, working together is out of the question.
From then on, Alma and Othilie run the divided restaurant as bitter rivals. Suddenly, a lucrative contract is on the horizon, but only one of the two restaurants can win it: In the popular reality TV series "Carpe mortem", Neuss-born mortician Fiete Underberg is looking for the perfect restaurant for (his) funeral feast on the Rhine.
