A ten-year-old girl. A bicycle. A restrictive society. A girl and her big dream. On ten-year-old Wadjda's way to school from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, she passes a toy store selling a green bicycle. Her heart beats faster and faster, because owning this bike would mean finally being able to beat the boy next door, Abdullah, and outrun him as fast as the wind. Although girls are not allowed to ride bikes, Wadjda hatches a plan to earn money for the bike in the school playground.
