Art meets science - panel discussion

Artistic-scientific panel with Prof. Alexander Haumann from the Antarctica InSync project (AWI), photographer and director of the Ocean Gallery, Stuttgart Julia Ochs, GMD Georg Fritzsch and Heinrich Gözenleuchter from the Orchestra of Change

The new project of the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research focuses on the Antarctic: Antarctica InSync combines the research topics of ice, ocean, climate and life. The aim is to better understand and protect this vital region. Diving photographer Julia Ochs combines artistic and activist work. She has dedicated her photography to the ocean in all its myriad shapes and colors to capture true stories, real emotions and the infinite beauty this planet has to offer.

How can art raise our awareness of the fragility of our planet - inspire action? How can art and science work together?
