IMANU, Buunshin and The Caracal Project are shaking up the field of bass music. Coming from drum'n'bass, the three have opened themselves up to the entire stylistic diversity of electronic and bass sounds and are at the forefront of a new generation of versatile and curious producers with their cross-genre production approaches. All three are connected through collaborations, all three share the ability to tell extraordinary musical stories and convey emotions.

Starting out musically with drum'n'bass under the pseudonym Signal, Jonathan Kievit from Rotterdam has shown how to break out of a genre without abandoning it with his project IMANU, which was launched at the end of 2019. His debut album "Unfold" combines experiences of drum'n'bass, future bass and glitch pop sounds with lush textures, playful melodies and vocals with releases on labels such as VISION, Heaven Sent, UKF and mau5trap, remixes for Apashe, TOKiMONSTA, What So Not and many others, as well as collaborations with Sleepnet, Mefjus and Buunshin, for example, he has torn open the genre drawers and combined what's inside them to create something new.

Ferry Mellegers alias Buunshin landed a #1 hit on Beatport with his very first release and within three years has developed from a complete newcomer to an artist who releases on renowned labels such as Breakbeat Kaos, VISION, UKF, Mau5trap and Critical, to name but a few. With deliberate rule-breaking, he jumps between genres, fluidly changes BPMs and creates experimental sounds with great attention to detail.

Felix Burnod, alias The Caracal Project, also has the potential to tell stories and convey emotions. On his latest EP "Self Reflections", he proves once again how poetic bass music can be. The Caracal Project combines funky melodies with a touch of lush pads to then plunge us into colossal and unconventional drops. As well as working closely with Buunshin & IMANU, he also collaborates with Nik Roos aka Sleepnet, Moore Kismet and Leotrix amongst others.
