Demo gegen Rechts

In the organizer's words:

After the end of the traffic light system and the resulting new elections in 2025, there is a real danger that the AfD will become the second strongest party. Last year, the AfD already received 32.8% of the vote in Thuringia and 30.6% in Saxony. In mid-December, the party was polling at 20%.

A party that openly advocates fascist positions must not be allowed to gain further strength in our society. The AfD's policies are based on division, hatred and exclusion. Its rise to power poses an immediate threat to many people in our society.

Marginalized groups such as refugees, people with a migration background, people with disabilities, women, flinta*, non-binary people, human rights activists, Jews, feminists, anti-fascists, environmental activists, trade unionists and journalists are already under massive threat.

We must not stand idly by!
We must organize and resist. The revelations of Correctiv's research last year revealed what observers had long been aware of. The AfD's links with reactionary elites and its plans to establish an authoritarian and fascist regime. The large demonstrations last year were an important start, now it is up to us to step up our resistance and send a clear signal against the AfD and its intellectual allies shortly before the elections.

After all, representatives of bourgeois parties have long since joined the authoritarian formation. First and foremost, Federal Chancellor candidate Friedrich Merz, who has already broken the dam in terms of content and, just one year after Correctiv's research, is unashamedly calling for the expatriation of citizens. Hard times are ahead! The CDU/CSU is driving forward the division of society by pitting people against each other. Its policies are also based on exclusion and fear. It plays on the economic concerns of the supposedly weaker members of society.

That is why we are calling on you: Come on Friday 14.02.2025 at 18.30, to Dr.-Ruer-Platz, in Bochum's city center. We must not allow fascist ideas and hatred to further corrode our society. There is no middle ground between fascism and anti-fascism.

We ask the representatives of the parties to leave party symbols of any kind at home. We do not want this demonstration to be used as an election campaign event.

Bring friends, family and colleagues and let's send a strong signal together against fascism and for a society based on solidarity.
